Talisman 2nd Edition - Assassin

The first painted Talisman model from my collection: the Assassin.
It took me a while to choose which colour scheme to go for, as I was not very sure of using the official combination displayed in the character's card. So, I went for a darker, less conspicuous theme instead.

One of the most striking features of this little criminal is how short he is when compared to an average 28mm model (below you can see him still in WIP stage next to a Reaper lady of the night and how tall she looks like by contrast).

However, his menacing pose balances out his lack of stature. He looks as deadly as anything.
In the end, I was very happy how he turned out. I can't say the same for his poor victims.

  1. Cool stuff! He could easily pass a teenage assassin apprentice. Not all figures need to be the same height. With his face covered he might even be a Halfling or Gnome or something.

Love that last photo, by the way! So much atmosphere!

  2. Hi Chris. I like that idea! And yes, different sizes actually give more realism to the overall population - as long as dwarves aren't as tall as ogres, of course! :)

Thanks for the photo comment. I hope to publish a few more atmospheric urban shots.

  4. Wow he sure is short. But a really nice old school sculpt. I like the way you have based him, good choice of colours as well.

  5. It wouldn't be interesting if everyone was the same height. I don't mind mixing ranges so much, as long as the style of the scuplts match each other.
